All welcome conversations about their work and are pleased to discuss purchases, commissions along with any aspects of their work that interest you.  So over to you as you browse and enjoy their art.

The extent and size of the the Art Materials Marquee is an indication not only of its popularity at the Patchings Festival, but also the huge range of paints, brushes, paper, etc., available and on the market. Do these vast ranges of materials confuse? Now is the time to use this special opportunity to consider what is available by meeting the people who make them and the individual professionals who use these products. Here you will be able to test and try.

With so much buying of materials restricted to online transactions over the last two years, there is now much focus on meeting up with customers once again. There are certain to be festival show offers to encourage this.

Resident Artists

We are proud to have an association with many artists through the year. Once again  we have pleasure in introducing two of our friends to represent the Festival Resident Artist.

Laura Boswell – print maker will be known to many through her involvement with the festival during recent years and her successful solo exhibition at Patchings. As well as author of a number of books.

Tom Shepherd – Tom started off his art career creating custom artwork on guitars using graffiti pens.  Making a move towards a brush and more traditional mediums opened up a whole new world, and he hasn’t looked back since. He loves to paint in acrylics and oils, and more recently has started exploring watercolour. We very much look forward to welcoming Tom to the festival for his first year!

Our resident artists are with us for all four days. They will be working on current pieces and would be pleased to see you. A collection of recent work will be on show and for sale.

Laura Boswell Print Maker

This part of the festival is where we are privileged to welcome popular and well known artists to spend a day with us, painting and meeting visitors in an informal setting. It allows for conversation, discussion and perhaps the opportunity of a question or two – something you have always wanted to ask.

Within this setting there is a  show case their work. Many arrange their visit to the festival to coincide with the opportunity of meeting one or more of these artists.

Artists will have recent work on show which is available for purchase along with other items of their work, such as cards and prints.

A real opportunity to find out more from the artists you admire.

There some of our artists and makers who need either a little more space to show and demonstrate their work. There are others who work better in an outdoor environment. The car park in front of the Pavilion is an ideal space to promote and show their work. There may be one or surprises.
