Exploring the Visible
A selection of paintings made over the last twenty years. They stem from a fascination with the visible world and from an obsession with the activity of painting. I love the feel and smell of the paint, the magic of colours and shapes which turn into an image that has never existed before. I take my time and live with the development of a work over a prolonged period. The works that engage me most tend to be calm, delicate and precise, a combination that I find can be emotionally satisfying. These are paintings that can be revisited as time goes by. The challenge for me is to create work which has this sort of feel about it.
