A welcome to our friends from Winsor & Newton and of course their talented artist and demonstrator Glynn Macey. Always a popular stop off for visitors, so make sure you pop in and see him today.

GUEST ARTIST MARQUEE
With the Guest Artist Marquee, we always strive to create an opportunity to meet renowned artists in an intermit and informal setting. Something which has certainly been achieved as today you are privileged to visit many of our guest artists in their studio at home. A wonderful and special opportunity.
Bruce Mulcahy, David Curtis
David Howell, Haidee-Jo Summers
Pollyanna Pickering Foundation
Robin Perko, Roger Dellar

Naturally one of the most popular parts to the event – whether actual or virtual. Take a look at the wide range of show offers. As always use the opportunity to hear from those who make and promote art and craft the products.

Mixed Media Marquee
For the virtual festival we have listed our makers in alphabetical order. Our invitation to you is to take your time and stroll around the marquee. Seeing their work in this arrangement clearly shows the variety of products and media exhibited, whilst marvelling at the talent and expertise of those involved. There are show offers to seek out and many give you a glimpse into their creative world.
Do use the contact details provided to converse with exhibitors – being virtual mustn’t stop the communication.

Painting Marquee
Year after year it always amazes the extensive styles and approaches there are to the fine art on show at Patchings. If nothing else this occasion encourages time to browse and consider what is on show. As with those in Mixed Media.
We would encourage using the contact details. There is nothing an artist enjoys more than a conversation about their work, other than of course – selling it. Many here have show offers on work as well as courses and workshops.

Jean Haines – Marquee
Hi everyone,
I am desperately missing being at Patchings this year which I believe is the best art event to attend ever! I have many magical memories of my previous visits and I’m so looking forward to next year because it’s going to be a very special event when we are all together again. So see you there! For now here is a clip from my new online art school which is called “Watercolour Inspiration”. Everyone is welcome to join especially if you met me at Patchings. I look forward to being reunited in 2021, filling the world with wonderful colour and magic again.

Charles Evans
Charlie Evans was born a long time ago in Yorkshire where he grew up as a country lad.
Relocating to Northumberland after his time in the RAF gave Charlie the impetus to develop a career in art, painting and teaching. Appearing regularly for Tyne Tees TV regional programmes, painting out on location, gave him plenty of practice in working under all conditions. Today, Charlie still lives in Northumberland and travels the country, and abroad, taking his no-nonsense approach to painting to hundreds of amateur artists.
Charlie represents Daler-Rowney wherever he goes and believes they provide the best art materials available!

Art of Watercolour Tutorial by Charles Evans
Charles Evans is demonstrating in both the Daler Rowney Marquee and the Search press Marquee, please visit their marquees for full listings.

PREMIUM ART BRANDS
We are sorry that circumstances prevent us being at Patching’s this year to see all our regular visitors and new visitors. As an alternative we have some short Daniel Smith Watercolour videos from Jean Haines and Michael Soloyev and some introductory videos to PanPastel for those who are unfamiliar with this medium. There’s also two PanPastel tutorials for those who already have the product, to try at home.
Stay safe and keep painting. We look forward to welcoming you back to an even bigger and better marquee in 2021!

A message from Jean Haines…
“ Hi there, I am sure like me you are so sad that we can’t be at Patchings this year. But the good news is we will be together in 2021 and it’s going to be absolutely fantastic! I am absolutely loving using my Daniel Smith watercolours which add vibrance and excitement to every single painting session. Here I am demonstrating my now very popular “Dancing Ladies” technique which shows you how to select colours to paint any subject. By using these exercises regularly you learn about individual pigments, how they interact and increase your knowledge on how to work with watercolour gaining confidence constantly. You can see more inspirational films on how to paint in a loose style in my brand new online art school where I talk more about my passion for working with Daniel Smith products!
